How to Hack Any Wii 4.3 (Part 4)

November 16, 2011

Step 1. Install WBFS Manager and format your USB Drive

A. Download and Install WBFS Manager

  • Click here to download WBFS Manager for 32-bit (x32 or x86) operating systems.
  • Click here to download WBFS Manager for 64-bit (x64) operating systems.

B. Plug in your USB Drive into your computer or laptop if it isn’t already plugged in.
C. Go to “My Computer” or “Computer” and remember what letter your USB Drive is assigned.
D. Open WBFS Manager and Select your USB Drive letter from the drop down menu at the top left corner by Drive:

Note: If you have important data in your USB Drive, make sure to back it up first.

F. Click on Format and then click on Yes>OK.

Step 2. Use WBFS Manager to import Wii .ISOs to your USB Drive

A. Click on Load.
B. Click on Browse… on the bottom right.
C. Select the .ISO or .ISOs you want to import, then click OPEN.

Note: To import individual .ISOs, hold down CTRL and click on the ones you want to import.
Note: To import multiple “in between” .ISOs, select a “beginning” .ISO, then hold down SHIFT and click the “end” .ISO to include the .ISOs in between as well as the beginning and end.

D. After WBFS Manager is done analyzing your .ISO or .ISOs, click on Add to Drive.
E. Once WBFS Manager is done importing your .ISO or .ISOs, be sure to “Safely remove” your USB Drive. If you don’t know how click here.

It might not be compatible. Did you check the compatability list in the troubleshooting section of this site?

Whenever i try adding a game onto my usb through WBFS manager it never works. I load the Drive then browse for a game after a reasonable amount of time, WBFS Mgr shows that it has successfully added the game to the disk. However, the game does not show up in the list of games shown on my drive in WBFS Mgr. Any ideas about what could be going on and, more importantly, how to fix this problem? * i’ve re-installed , rebooted and testing to see if the games would show up on my wii* Thanks for your help!

I am trying to install USB Loader GX and I am getting an error, “”ERROR!
USB loader GX needs unstubbed cIOS 222 v4 or 249 v9.”

What is that I need to do to fix this problem. It seems like I’m not the only one having this issue. Thanks.

Download IOS222 and IOS249 here, put them in your wad folder, and install them with YAWMM.

OK I have to two games on my wii and when I try playing them its in black and white. The screen says has the title of the game but it keeps shifting down.

You need to change individual game settings in USBLGX if a glitch like that happens. Take a look at Part 6.

This may sound strange in this day and age, but i cant afford an usb hard drive (From Jamaica). Will this method allow me to play back up games? If so, how do i achieve this? I own a Black wii 4.3u. Thanks for your help.

Apparently Black Wii consoles have the new D3-2 chip that will not allow you to play DVDs, including burned copies, so you must use a USB drive. If you had a Wii without the stupid chip, then you can use NeoGamma instead of USB Loader GX to play your burned games. Oh and sorry for the delayed response.

Thank you so much for the tutorial. Is it possible to load *.wbfs file to the USB drive using WBFS Manager? If so, how? If not, is a there a way to that? Thanks.

Yes, you can convert it into a .iso file so you can import into USB.

It has installed well but than when i tried to open the icon on my desktop it looked like it is going to work but than a window opened and there was an error. The window was there just less than 1 second, than closed and nothing works. Please help me.

I think this will work. Credits to RedWarlock for the potential fix. First you want to uninstall WBFS manager and then:

1. Download these two files: Dotnetfx Cleanup Tool and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 (Full Package).
2. Run dotnetfx cleanup tool.
3. Leave the default selected “.NET Framework – All Versions”
4. Click “Cleanup Now”
(it will take a while for the cleanup to complete)
5. REBOOT your computer after the cleanup has completed.
6. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 (Full Package).
7. REBOOT your computer again.
8. Re-install WBFS Manager and it should work.

I click the add to disc button after loading the iso that I want but it never does but it still says that it has loaded it onto my usb. When I check though, the iso isn’t there and my usb is still empty

Reply

homebrewpirate December 7, 2011 at 10:55 pm

I am not sure if the .ISO is visible on your HD when you’re looking at it from your computer. Did you try loading USBLGX to verify? You may need to reformat your HD into WBFS if the game really isn’t there.
